Programme for 2008-9 Season

The meetings programme for the 2008-9 season is taking shape, with all the pre-Christmas meeting agenda finalised and the new year meetings also taking shape..

The season starts on 7 August with Chairman Tony Blair covering the FA's Respect campaign, the law amendments for the coming season and the impact they will have on the coming season. The season will also see visits from FA Regional Referees Manager for the Midlands and former Football League referee Ray Olivier, National List referee Anthony Taylor and PGMOL National Group Manager David Allison

Steve Welch wins the 2008 James Colligan Memorial Trophy

Steve Welch receives the trophy from Frank HannahSteve Welch is the rightful winner of the 2008 James Colligan Memorial Trophy for the member who has furthered the interests of Eccles RA the most, in recognition of his tremendous work in his first year as editor of the Eccles RA Informer.

Steve has worked wonders this season to take the Informer forward and his efforts have been rewarded. Well done Steve!

 

Anthony Moore takes the Neil Midgley Memorial Trophy for 2008

Anthony Moore receives the trophy from Barbara MidgleyAnthony Moore has won the Neil Midgley Memorial Trophy for the Senior Referee of the Year following his promotion to Level 3 for next season.

Having worked hard following disappointment last season, the awards sub-committee congratulates Anthony on his achievment.

 

Steve Edmonds wins the John McCabe Trophy for 2008

Steve Edmonds was announced as the winner of the 2008 John McCabe Trophy for the Level 7 Referee of the Year.

Steve has had an absolutely tremendous season, which has seen him achieve a double promotion from Level 7 to Level 5. He has subsequently been successfully nominated for Level 4, which means that next season he will be a Level 4 referee. Congratulations Steve.

Unfortunately, Steve was not able to be at the AGM so his trophy will be presented at a later meeting.

 

Daniel Costello awarded the Ron Harding Trophy in 2008

Daniel Costello receives his trophy from President Eddie LomasDaniel Costello has won the 2008 Ron Harding Trophy for Level 6 Referee of the Year.

Daniel has had an incredibly good season, with a number of notable appointments, including travelling to the Dallas Cup over the Easter having been nominated by Manchester FA. Congratulations Dan!

 

Payam Kordbacheh wins the 2008 Jock Haig Memorial Trophy

Payam Kordbacheh receives his trophy from Ian HaigAt the AGM, Payam Kordbacheh received the Jock Haig Memorial Trophy for the member showing potential to progress.

Payam has shown great dedication and commitment to his refereeing and has been rewarded with some good appointments. Keep it up Payam!
