Congratulations - Frank Hannah MBE

Frank Hannah MBEEccles RA wishes to congratulate our Honorary Life Vice President, Frank Hannah, on being awarded a MBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours List. Frank's accolade is in recognition of his services to sport and is just reward for his commitment and support to the national game over 70 years.

George Fawkes receives the James Colligan Memorial Trophy for 2009

George Fawkes receives his awardGeorge Fawkes has been awarded the James Colligan Memorial Trophy for 2009, in recognition of his unrelenting dedication to the association and the fantastic work he has put in with the association's shop.

Well done George!

 

Barry Lamb takes the Neil Midgley Memorial Trophy

Barry Lamb receives his awardThe ever popular Barry Lamb has been awarded the Neil Midgley Memorial Trophy for Senior Referee of the Year.

Barry sufferred a massive disappointment at the end of last season when he was removed from Level 3 but has got his head down, worked hard and his performances this year have seen him promoted back to Level 3 for the 2009-10. Barry can be rightly proud of his attitutde and application in achieving this feat.

 

Payam Kordbacheh awarded the Ron Harding Trophy

Payam receives his award from Harold Crook Following a very successful season in 2008/9, Payam Kordbacheh received the Ron Harding Trophy as Level 6 Referee of the Year from association life member Harold Crook.

Payam's performances this season have been of an incredibly high standard, seeing him invited to represent Manchester FA the Dallas Cup tournament in the USA and promoted to Level 5 for next season. Well done Payam.

 

James Gilmartin takes the John McCabe Trophy

James Gilmartin has won the John McCabe Trophy, for Level 7 or 8 Referee of the Year following an impressive start to his career having joined us earlier in the season.

Unfortunately, James was unable to attend the AGM to receive his award so thepresentation will be made at our next meeting.

 

Danny Costello awarded the Jock Haig Memorial Trophy

Danny Costello receives the Jock Haig Memorial Trophy The winner of the Jock Haig Memorial Trophy for 2009 is Danny Costello, shown receiving his award from Chairman Tony Blair.

Danny has built upon his successes of last season, which saw him win the Ron Harding Trophy as Level 6 Referee of the Year, and through his dedicated application has been promoted to Level 4 for 2009/10. We are sure that if he continues his development he has the potential to rise further up the refereeing ladder.
